Awards are presented in:

• ART & CULTURE (Arte y Cultura) Honors individuals or organizations making meaningful contributions to the visual, literary, performing, or cultural arts. This category also includes work in media, communications, or efforts that support and promote Latino artists and arts programs.
• BUSINESS (Empresa) Recognizes leadership, innovation, and success in the business or corporate sector. Nominees may be entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, or business owners—active or retired—who demonstrate excellence in their field.
• COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (Trabajo en la Comunidad) Celebrates those who dedicate time, passion, and service to uplift and empower Latino communities in North Carolina. Their impact is seen in efforts to improve lives and strengthen community bonds.
• EDUCATION (Educación) Acknowledges outstanding contributions to education through teaching, leadership, research, or advocacy. This category includes educators and administrators who help shape and inspire future generations.
• HEALTH & SCIENCE (Salud y Ciencia) Highlights impactful work in the fields of health, wellness, and science. This may include practitioners, researchers, educators, or advocates who promote health equity and scientific advancement in Latino communities.
• LATINO ADVOCATE (Defensor de los Latinos) Honors civic leaders, public servants, or organizations committed to advocating for Latino communities and driving positive change through policy, leadership, or public engagement.
• JAIME LEON YOUTH AWARD (Logro Juvenil) A financial stipend awarded to two graduating high school seniors in recognition of their academic achievements, leadership, and dedication to community service.
• LIZETTE CRUZ WATKO AWARD (Premio Lizette Cruz Watko) Recognizes an individual whose life’s work—spanning 20 years or more—has significantly impacted the Latino community in North Carolina through consistent dedication and leadership.
